Preparing for a Consultant Pharmacists Career Certificate Training

This is a course that requires the purchase of a book and includes home study and completion of quizzes prior to a full day of in-person class. It also requires a separate registration for the Joint Board test on March 6, 2026.  Please read all of the requirements below before registering. Email tlawson@njpha.org with questions.  

Preparing for a Consultant Pharmacist Career is an innovative, intensive, and practice-based continuing pharmacy education activity developed by the New Jersey Pharmacists Association [NJPhA] and the NJPhA Academy of Consultant Pharmacists. The purpose of this practice-based training activity is to prepare pharmacists with comprehensive knowledge, skills, and enhance practice through a didactic component and a practice experience component.   The didactic and practice components provide information related to the Consultant Pharmacist Handbook: A Guide for Consulting to Nursing facilities, 5th Edition, and practical case discussions. The home study contains guided questions, and chapter post-tests for which the Consultant Handbook is required and it is purchased separately.   Additional laws and regulations may vary by state, and such content may not be reviewed in this course. 

The digital version of the book (Consultant Pharmacist Handbook: A Guide for Consulting to Nursing facilities, 5th Edition) can be purchased online.  The home study question sequence is based on the chapters in the 5th Edition.  You will need this edition to answer the questions since page numbers are required in conjunction with the technical answer. Please be sure you purchase the 5th edition [https://med-pass.com/pharmacy/consultant-pharmacist.html].  At this point only the digital version of the book is available, we are told that it can be downloaded as a pdf and printed.  The home study course (13 separate chapters) must be completed prior to the live, in-person session on March 6, 2026 at the FDU in Florham Park, NJ, USA 

A passing grade of 80% is required. 

Prepare for the next CCP certification test (The test is March 6, 2026 and separate registration through the Joint Board is required) and earn 16 credits through this self-study and live program.  Space is limited. 

Steps:

1) Register for the Course: Register for the course

2) Order the book Consultant Pharmacist Handbook: A Guide for Consulting to Nursing facilities, 5th Edition Item A021-DD

3)Register in the Joint Board website for the test on March 6, 2026: CCP Exam Registration

4)Complete the 8 hours of home study passing all tests using the link sent in your course confirmation email from Lecture Panda.

3) Attend the in-person class on February 25, 2026

4) Take the test on March 6, 2026.

Cancellations: registration cancelled after the program begins is not eligible for a refund.  Registrations cancelled by February 15, 2026  are eligible for a refund minus a cancellation fee of $100.  Refunds are processed after the program
